Dr. Thirada Suwannasri Shares Insights on Educational Leadership, Future Skills, and the Changing Role of Teachers in a Global Society

Thailand–China Educational Cooperation | International Education Exchange

In an era of rapid global transformation, education plays a vital role in shaping the future of humanity. Recognizing the importance of preparing young generations for a complex and interconnected world, educational leaders from Thailand and the People’s Republic of China came together to exchange perspectives on the future of education, the evolving role of teachers, and the development of global citizens.

Prior to her official visit to the People’s Republic of China, Dr. Thirada Suwannasri, President of SBI Global Network Thailand–Singapore and Director of SBI Group, was honored to participate in a special interview program under the theme:

“Educational Leadership and the Role of Teachers in an Era of Transformation: Shaping Future Generations.”

The interview will be broadcast across ASEAN countries and the People’s Republic of China, serving as an important platform for international dialogue and knowledge exchange in education.

The interview was conducted by:

  • Ms. Cui Yuefan (崔月帆) from Xinmin Secondary Vocational School, Shenyang, Liaoning Province, China
  • Ms. Jiang Zhimiao (蒋志苗) from Guangxi Arts University, Nanning, Guangxi Province, China
  • Representatives from the International Youth Relations Foundation

The discussion focused on the challenges and opportunities facing education in the 21st century, particularly the impact of technological advancement, artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation, youth development, and the essential skills required for future success.

Redefining the Role of Teachers in the Future of Education

During the interview, Dr. Thirada emphasized that the role of teachers in the future must extend beyond traditional knowledge delivery. Teachers are no longer simply instructors but must become learning designers, inspirational mentors, and talent discoverers who guide students to recognize and develop their own potential.

She highlighted that educators must continuously strengthen their competencies in areas such as psychology, intercultural communication, emotional understanding, and learner-centered approaches in order to effectively support students in an increasingly diverse and changing world.

“Future education is not only about what students learn, but also about who they become.”

Dr. Thirada explained that while technology provides remarkable opportunities for learning and innovation, it also brings new challenges, including changes in communication patterns, reduced human interaction, and increasing concerns related to youth well-being.

Therefore, education in the future must maintain a balance between technological advancement and human development. Academic excellence alone is not sufficient; learners must also develop resilience, creativity, emotional intelligence, critical thinking, and the ability to collaborate with others.

Teachers as Mentors and Partners in Youth Development

Dr. Thirada further shared that teachers in the modern era must become trusted partners who accompany students throughout their learning journeys. Their responsibility extends beyond classrooms — they must inspire confidence, encourage growth, and create meaningful learning experiences that empower young people.

She also emphasized the importance of collaboration among educators, psychologists, families, and professionals from various fields. Although each sector has different expertise, they share the same mission: supporting young people and preparing them to become responsible global citizens.

Building future generations requires collective commitment from all sectors of society. Education is not only the responsibility of schools, but a shared mission involving communities, organizations, and international partners.

Strengthening Thailand–China Educational Collaboration

This special interview marks another meaningful milestone in Thailand–China educational cooperation, reflecting the shared vision of both nations in promoting international understanding, educational innovation, and youth empowerment.

Through cross-border dialogue and collaboration, educators from different cultures can exchange knowledge, learn from one another, and work together to create educational approaches that respond to global challenges.

SBI Global Network Thailand remains committed to advancing international education cooperation, developing future-ready leaders, and creating opportunities for learners and educators to connect beyond borders.
